How to Waterproof your leather shoes with Woly Protector

Shoe Protector Spray – Waterproof Spray For Shoes

Using a shoe protector spray or waterproof spray for shoes is the perfect way to preserve your footwear and keeping them in pristine condition.

When purchasing a new pair of shoes, the last thing you want to do is have them marked or stained by a drink spillage, rain or puddle splash. Woly 3×3 Shoe Protector Spray is a quick, simple and affordable way of protecting them.

First of all, it’s a great idea to apply some shoe polish to your new shoes to maintain their shine, stop them from fading and start the protection process. All you need for this is a Woly Shoe Cream Polish and polishing cloth. Apply the polish sparingly and evenly across your shoes and buff.

With your shoes now polished and a base layer of protection applied, you can add the protector spray.

Should I Remove The Laces?

That’s entirely up to you but for the best possible level of protection, we would say yes. Leaving the laces in will likely stop the spray from reaching the area of shoe beneath them and this could cause that area to fade or become stained later.

Applying Shoe Protector Spray

We highly recommend applying your shoe protector spray outside or at least in a well-ventilated area.

To ensure an even coat, place your hand inside the shoe and rotate the shoe itself rather than moving the can around the shoe. You can still adjust the angle of the spray to ensure the protector gets into the welt and other tight areas but in holding your shoes in one hand and the spray in the other it’s much easier to fully cover the surface and avoid spraying too much on one area.

After spraying on your first coat you can leave the shoes to dry for 10 minutes, before adding a second layer.

Repeat the process twice more as this will ensure that the entirety of your shoes is well covered and that no moisture is going to get through.

Re-lace Your Shoes

Wait until the shoe protector spray is completely dry before doing this but then you’re fine to lace your shoes just as you normally would.

How Long Will The Spray Last?

Our shoe protector sprays are designed to be effective for around 15 days.

The sprays mentioned above will provide you with quite a few coverings so are well worth investing in rather than having to replace stained and tired looking shoes!
